Vaiva Kubilius, Sales and Project Executive
Career History
My first job and working life began in a fish and chip shop asking the tough questions like ‘would you like that battered or crumbed?’ however after two years next to the deep fryer I decided it was time to bid farewell to the butterfish and calamari rings. I then moved on to butterflies, wedding rings and chair covers working for Event Styling Firm Bliss Events. And now I am part of the Adelaide Convention Bureau’s sensational Sales Team.
Greatest Achievement
My greatest achievement to date is completing my studies in Hospitality and Events and gaining international accreditation.
Favourite Pastime
I seem to fill my time with a great deal of chatter and laughter in and out of the Adelaide Convention Bureau office. If I am not discovering a new little (or big) restaurant, shop or movie then I am probably at home - cooking, gift wrapping or reorganising my shoes, again.
Favourite South Australian Holiday Destination
Moonta Bay on the Yorke Peninsula – my family have a fabulous little ramshackle shack just a stone throw from the beach and it is a place for total relaxation, with kilometres of perfect coastline to walk, swim or fish along…
Favourite Adelaide or South Australian Dining Experience
There is nothing quite like sharing food, wine and laughter with friends that is why I love Mesa Lunga. Each time I am there I have so much fun, it is so comfortable and is impossible not get caught up in the loud and joyous atmosphere…the food is fabulous too!
Adelaide as a Destination
Convenience, Culture and Creativity!
Adelaide is a fantastic city with so much to experience. The best place to start is in one of the abundant streets filled with restaurants, cafés and pubs, that is matched by Adelaide’s amazing and vibrant patch work of festivals. Our city is filled with galleries, boutique shops and beautiful buildings. Also Adelaide is surrounded by 12 very unique regions filled with amazing experiences.
