Stuart McLeod, Account Manager - NSW & NZ

Career History
My work life began in the remote heat of Roxby Downs as an Assistant Surveyor before moving to the crystal clean beaches and cooler climate of Port Lincoln where I studied Aquaculture for several years before returning to Adelaide. I began working for Hyatt Regency Adelaide as a porter, the best job in the world for a 22 year old who loves people and nice cars, and the start of my career in hospitality and tourism. I was fortunate to be offered a number of opportunities in Sales & Marketing and last held the position of Associate Director of Sales before accepting the position of Account Manager at the Adelaide Convention Bureau.

Greatest Achievement
To date, my greatest achievement has been 2009. In the same year – we started a family, sold a house, built a new house, got married, went on a honeymoon, and started a new job, just to name a few.

Favourite Pastime
I love to spend time with my wife and son, as well as surfing, tennis, and golf when time permits.

Favourite South Australian Holiday Destination
Coffin Bay National Park for its untouched beauty and good surf

Favourite Adelaide or South Australian Dining Experience
I can’t go past a long relaxing afternoon on the deck at the Lane Vineyard overlooking the picturesque Adelaide Hills.

Adelaide as a Destination
Adelaide has such a friendly culture, it’s the people that make a place, and that’s why I love Adelaide. In the business events sector its essential that people are friendly, helpful, supportive and assertive, and I am privileged to work in a city where this is genuinely true.
