Catherine Hincks, Research Officer

Career History
I have been in the tourism industry since leaving College and graduating from Tourism Studies at TAFE Regency Park in the early 1980’s. I started in retail tourism, moving to the Airline Industry and joined the Adelaide Convention Bureau in 1997. My roles at the Bureau have been within the Sales Department predominantly promoting South Australia as a highly desired conference destination.

Greatest Achievement
My Children - seeing two sets of blue eyes greet me every morning is undoubtedly my greatest achievement. I still feel like the luckiest girl alive and its a privilege nurturing, educating & providing for them . They have taught me what really matters in this world of ours.

Favourite Pastime
Having family & friends over for a BBQ & swim. Building sandcastles, chasing seagulls on the beach with the kids & rolling around tickling each other on the lounge room floor. I also enjoy the property market, walking, some downtime with my Husband and family history. The last place you will find me is in the kitchen !

Favourite South Australian Holiday Destination
Victor Harbor – I have fond memories growing up and spending our family summer holidays at Victor. Now my kids are running around the same parks, eating the same fish & chips and collecting the same sea shells. The only difference now is that I have a glass of wine.

Favourite Adelaide or South Australian Dining Experience
Who goes out to dinner with two small kids at home ! However, when we get the opportunity we try the best that SA has to offer.

Adelaide as a Destination
Born, raised and a passionate South Australian. We have so much to enjoy, appreciate & admire.
