Adelaide’s success in hosting medium to large scale incentive groups is quickly gathering pace as another event organiser heaps praise on this up and coming destination. Another event has debriefed its experiences in Adelaide and the report card suggests Adelaide is poised for bigger and better things…

Just under 800 delegates from the direct selling company, Joymain, recently visited Adelaide for a trip to reward their sales team. The joint city experience (with Melbourne) was confirmed to Adelaide through the Adelaide Convention Bureau’s work in China over the past 12 months. Originally planned to be held solely in Melbourne once the decision makers visited Adelaide they knew they had to expand their trip. “All I knew about Adelaide prior to my site inspection was Penfolds winery (because I am a wine lover). When I first arrived into Adelaide I felt welcomed by the Bureau, Governor and the Lord Mayor.” – Ben Fang Director Joymain.

Following the footsteps of the iconic Huang Xioming, the South Australian Tourism Commissions Chinese Ambassador, the Joymain delegates enjoyed many of the same experiences. Climbing the rooftop of the Adelaide Oval, visiting an iconic winery, cuddling a koala and visiting Australia’s oldest German settlement where all on the busy schedule. “Personally, I think Adelaide is great and it’s a great destination suitable for direct selling incentive events. I hope Joymain will return to Adelaide again soon” – Ben Fang Director Joymain

This was an historic event for Adelaide as it has previously hosted large incentive groups before, however it had never been the anchor city, hosting the gala dinner, which is the highlight of any incentive trip. The new East wing of the Convention Centre held the gala dinner under the starry night roof and the delegates celebrated a successful event.

Adelaide is continuing its momentum recently gained within the medium to large scale incentive groups. Having recently hosted a few groups now the destination is becoming known for its authentic Australian experiences, pure clean and green surroundings and its Team Adelaide approach in bringing together all forms of support from Government to suppliers.

“The Adelaide Convention Bureau have related the values of the client and the values of the destination very well and have put it as the first priority; the government have also shown strong commitment to support, including the Governor of South Australian, South Australia Minister, the Lord Mayor of Adelaide and other partners. These have formed a solid foundation for the success of our project. As a destination, from the beginning of the bidding process to securing and conducting the event, Adelaide Convention Bureau have provided a dedicated professional for Joymain to communicate with.” – Ben Fang Director Joymain.

“After the event our team sat down with the agent organising the logistics for Joymain and was given host feedback on how the destination performed. We were pleasantly surprised that once again we scored a 9 out of 10 and that whilst a few things could of gone a bit smoother it was a very successful event” Damien Kitto, CEO, Adelaide Convention Bureau.
