The Bureau is a results driven team, which works closely with its 200 members industry partners to attract each year on average 40,000 international and national delegates, which generates 180,000 bed nights and delivers approximately $150 million into the state’s economy.
The Bureau is committed to its members through regular communication and service to ensure members leverage the most from the marketing tools provided and the business leads generated.
Marketing the destination is a collaborative approach, whereby members benefit by participating in targeted sales processes and many co-operative activities involving advertising, trade shows, sales calls, familiarisations and site inspections. Business events produce the highest daily yield of any sector of the tourism industry, on average $632 per delegate per day.
The indirect economic impact or non-visitor spend contribution and the value of the business events industry to Australia is not purely economic or financial, there is an extensive pool of unmeasured value under the surface. Among the many benefits and flow on affects, business events promote and showcase Australian expertise and innovation to the world and attract global leaders and investment decision makers who would have not otherwise come to Australia.
