ADELAIDE CONVENTION BUREAU'S HIGH YIELDING INTERNATIONAL EVENTS LEAD THE WAY FOR Q2 RESULTS
The Adelaide Convention Bureau has released its Q2 2010/11 report and thanks to a number of international events providing a high economic impact the numbers are positive in what has been a tough time for the industry world-wide - although a document released in December has pictured the industry on a global scale as ‘cautiously optimistic’ moving forward into this calendar year .
Damien Kitto, Adelaide Convention Bureau CEO said “with competition at an all time high, the Bureau have been concentrating on converting high yielding international and national conferences.
I'm pleased to report in particular, that 9 international conferences have already been won this financial year compared to a total of 8 won for the entire 2009/10 year. The high number of international wins explains the differential between overall bed nights which are down on target and economic impact which is above target year to date and in fact on par with the same time last year”.
