Damien joined the Adelaide Convention Bureau team as Chief Executive Officer in 2008 following his employment at Events South Australia. With his extensive experience at Events South Australia and South Australian Tourism Commission, Damien has a successful track record of facilitating collaboration across private and public sectors to position Adelaide, South Australia as a destination of choice. Damien has previously held the roles of President of the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux and Deputy Chair of the Business Events Council of Australia. He has provided strong leadership with a clear strategic focus for the Australian and South Australian business events sector.

General Manager

Mary joined the Adelaide Convention Bureau team as  an Administration and Finance Officer in 2001. In 2008 Mary was appointed General Manager and leads her team with vision and passion, constantly seeking new opportunities for growth, expansion and development whilst showcasing South Australia. Mary is proactive in promoting South Australia and leading the Adelaide Convention Bureau team to encourage members to bid for upcoming events to host in wonderful South Australia with the help of the Bureau.

Director, Sales & Marketing

Nic’s experience with events at the highest level and his strategic management and marketing skills make him a stand out for his vital role at the Adelaide Convention Bureau as Director of Sales & Marketing. In Nic’s previous roles as General Manager of the Australian Masters Games, Program Manager for the men’s teams at Basketball Australia and Director of Podium Partners, Nic has obtained an extensive background into the event and corporate sectors both nationally and internationally. Nic is responsible for the management, coordination and oversight of activities of the Bureau team to ensure the achievement of a specific sales and marketing objectives in accordance with the business plan.

Manager – Strategy and Development

Kathryn manages one of the Adelaide Convention Bureau’s key strategic initiatives, the Conventions Adelaide Program.  This Program has a focus on the attraction of major national and international conventions that align with and profile South Australia’s key industry sectors and strengths. This involves targeted research projects; business development activities and promotional events; and development of strategic partnerships and engagement with the state’s local institutions and academic community. The Program is supported by a powerful team of Conventions Adelaide Ambassadors who are prominent industry leaders in their fields and passionate about promoting Adelaide’s amazing attributes to the world.

Business Development Manager

Originally from the UK, Gemma found her home in Adelaide in 2009 and is a passionate advocate for South Australia and its amazing experiences. Her background consists of extensive business development and management experience in hospitality, tourism and events and she also holds a degree in Law. With her combined experience and passion Gemma is dedicated to strategically developing and bidding for business events opportunities from both national and international markets from a range of industry sectors including health, medical and scientific. Since beginning with the Bureau in 2013 Gemma has worked closely with the corporate and not for profit sectors to secure key conferences and events to the State which have resulted in major economic benefit to South Australia.

Business Development Manager

Jacqui is Business Development Manager focusing on the Melbourne market for National Conferences, New Zealand for Incentives and targeting the Agriculture, Advanced Manufacturing, Defence, Education, Wine, Minerals and Energy sectors for International Conferencing.  Jacqui has over 20 years’ experience in destination marketing and business events in New Zealand, Indonesia, and North and South America.  She has now made Adelaide her home and is a passionate advocate for South Australia and all the fantastic qualities the city and state has to offer.

Born and raised in New York, USA, Mike relocated to Adelaide in 2014 and has fallen in love with all that the city has to offer. Having worked in tourism, sales, training, and large scale government programs, Mike brings his versatile set of experience and passion for South Australia to the Bureau to focus on the QLD, ACT and WA markets for national conferences.

Business Development Executive – International

Lavender joined the Adelaide Convention Bureau in 2014 after completing a master’s degree in commerce, marketing. She is responsible for market research, generating new leads for potential international and Asia Pacific conventions and meetings to be held in Adelaide, South Australia.  She also represents the Bureau in the Asia market, attracting and securing corporate and incentive groups from South East Asia and China to South Australia.

Event Services Officer

Nick is the Event Services Officer for the Adelaide Convention Bureau and is the person to speak to when your event is confirmed for Adelaide. Nick will take the hassle out of searching for the best business event product in South Australia with his intimate knowledge of conference venues, hotels and touring experiences. Whether it is a meeting for 10 people or a conference for 2,000, Nick is able to assist all types of business events and requests.

Membership Manager

Lisa has been with the Bureau for over 5 years working within the events and membership teams. Having co-ordinated a number of Destination South Australia and AIME events whilst overseeing the member portfolio, Lisa understands the importance of sales & marketing plans and driving new business opportunities and therefore works closely with members to ensure they are connected with the Bureau and industry to achieve the overall goals in making South Australia a desired destination for business events, whist activating their member benefits. Having studied Travel and Tourism Lisa has worked in the industry since 1996 gaining experience in London and Melbourne working in a number of 4 and 5 star hotels in the Sales & Marketing departments.

Marketing Officer

Marcella joined the Adelaide Convention Bureau team in 2006 and is responsible for all marketing communications, including the member and client e-newsletters, website, social media, developing marketing collateral, advertising and brand maintenance. Marcella also supports the team with tradeshows and other communication activities. Marcella completed an Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management.

Sales Team Coordinator

Tess is the Sales Team Coordinator for the Adelaide Convention Bureau where she is responsible for putting together all national and international bidding documents, organising site inspections, liaising with Bureau members, VISA applications, international and domestic freight, reporting, national research and design of collateral.
